East River Street Gardens

Our Mission
The East River Street Gardens is a collaboration between the local schools, businesses, and families of the Illinois Valley. We partner with the IV Family Coalition to provide our rural town with a community garden fit for children and families to explore and learn. We host monthly volunteer work parties, welcome guest experts, and prepare activities for children of all ages. The East River Street Gardens are open to the public for recreation, gardening, and environmental education every Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm. Join our community-driven effort to restore and beautify this area!
Our Story
Children's Programs

Every Saturday, from 10am to 12pm, our garden teacher hosts children's activities that support our goal of restoration and teaching children to value nature. We will have snack available for our hardworking gardening students.

We have recently planted carrots, garlic, and strawberries. Join us next Saturday to see what we plant next!
Help us Reach our Goal
Help us transform 530 East River Street into a safe and inviting place with a functioning organic garden and educational program for children. Any donated funds go directly into the betterment of this space. Whether it be to rent a Porta-potty, connect city water, or to pay our garden teachers that are now helping on a volunteer basis, your support is crucial to the advancement of this dream!
